OUR STORY

Established in 1952 by Lawrence Andrepont and born from the job printing department of the Opelousas Daily World newspaper, Andrepont Printing has long been known for innovation in printing and a commitment to service.

In 1939, Opelousas made newspaper and printing history when the Daily World was opened by John Thistlethwaite and Ducote Andrepont. This paper was printed using the offset method of printing, the first daily paper printed using this process in the world. Today, all newspapers are printing using this method, and a copy of the first edition of the Daily World is in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

Lawrence Andrepont retired from his position at the Daily World in 1952 and opened his own business in the garage behind his family home on East Grolee Street in Opelousas. By 1954 the new printing company was growing fast and becoming successful. During that year Lawrence teamed up with longtime Opelousas printer James Bullara, and in partnership the two bought out the job printing department of the Daily World and moved Andrepont Printing to a more suitable home on North Main Street, where the business would operate for the next 38 years.

In 1992, another expansion brought Andrepont Printing to its current location on the I-49 Service Road in south Opelousas. Philip Andrepont, Lawrence’s youngest son, has guided the continued growth of the company since the 1970s, and today Philip’s son Andre continues the company’s mission, honoring our heritage while always looking ahead to what’s next.

Our commitment to quality and innovation and our long-time tradition of outstanding service is the reason we are here today. Give us a chance to show you what we can do for you!

Great people. Quality work. Affordable prices. Andrepont is fully engaged in the community and supports local missions and non-profits. Give them a chance and they'll show you why they are the best around!!

My father passed and they were very easy to work with. Very professional and patient. They made recommendations and helped us identify what we really wanted. Thank you.
